Summer holiday activities - including family festival 'Pandamonium!'

West Park Museum is now open for the summer, full to bursting with activities for all the family to enjoy.

Pandamonium!, programmed by our friends at the Barnaby Festival is a mini-festival of activities and workshops inspired by our much loved Giant Panda which runs until Sunday 25th August. It’s all FREE!, and there’s no need to book, just come along and join in the fun.

Pandamonium! What’s On calendar. 1pm-4pm each day (closed Mon 19th), unless stated otherwise:

Thursday 22nd
– Storytelling from China and around the world with the amazing Jan Blake.
Friday 23rd
– A Panda Bears’ picnic. Bring your favourite bear (non-Pandas allowed!) and a picnic.
– Storytelling with Jan Blake.
– Ever painted with a fork? Come and make your own Panda painting then make a pair of binoculars to go and look for animals in the museum.

(Activities are subject to change and are weather dependant).

But you don’t have to wait until then to enjoy the Museum. All summer long, West Park Museum is open with plenty of activities to enjoy. Come and find out about the Curious Tale of the Panda, the Horrible History of the Scold’s Bridle, or the Puzzle of the Pagoda.

Get involved – tell us a Panda Joke, dress up as a police officer and guard the Museum. There’ll be loads of interactive ways to enjoy the collections!

In Adventure Corner, you’ll discover extraordinary objects from across the globe brought back by Macclesfield explorers. In the Gallery, every picture tells a story and now you can add your own… with a twist.

Use the Eye-Spy Trail to spot unusual details hidden in the exhibits – and look up for a trip to the British Museum!
