Jo Gardiner Art

Jo is a self taught multi media artist with a love of animals and wildlife. Whilst not limiting herself to any particular medium, fibre art and needle felting has become a massive part of the art that she creates.

Her adorable miniature felted figures really are the last word in cuteness.

Jo runs regular needle felting workshops at Makers Place.

Lisa Gledhill – Teal & Tangerine

Lisa specialises in crocheting and sewing beautiful homewares and accessories,  hats and shawls, as well as cushions, bags and bowls, designed using traditional techniques with a contemporary twist.

Lisa loves receiving bespoke commissions, designing that perfect something for her customers.

She also teaches a variety of crochet workshops catering to all levels, from complete beginners to the advanced setting up of a specific project, passing on her passion and knowledge to others.

Heidi also runs classes teaching some of the many techniques she uses in her accessory making. If you’re keen to learn how to Peyote Stitch, French Bead, or Brick Stitch, keep an eye out for her regular workshops run at Makers’ Place inside the Silk Museum.

Lucy Thorp

Lucy is a student studying at Leek college, whose work consists of fine art and textiles.

She enjoys producing drawings and portraits of machinery and livestock in pencil, ink and stitch alongside her printed and stitched lampshades and other interior products.

Lucy’s inspiration for her pretty pieces comes from her farming background, and things she sees daily on the farm.
