From July 28th, the Silk Museum and Paradise Mill are open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays

 

The Silk Museum is open Wednesday – Saturday 10-4pm Park Lane, Macclesfield SK11 6TJ

Pre-booking no longer required – visitors can walk straight in. We are monitoring visitor numbers, doing regular cleaning and there are hand sanitizers throughout the museum. We respectfully ask visitors to wear masks, but realise it is personal choice.
Entry is Give What you can donation.

The Silk Museum Shop is open Wednesday – Saturday 10-4pm – walk straight in, no need to visit the museum if you don’t want to.

The Jacquard Tea Room is open Wednesday – Saturday 10-4pm – walk straight into our airy Tea Room serving home-made cake and biscuits. Choose from a variety of teas and top quality filter coffee served in vintage china.  Treat yourself after a tour of Paradise Mill or exploring the museum collection.

Access: The Silk Museum is all on the ground floor and is suitable for baby buggy/ pram, wheelchair, mobility scooter, crutches and zimmer frame users.

Admission: £9.50 adults, £8.50 Concessions, children free.

Walk in bookings are available on the day, but to avoid disappointment we recommend pre-booking for Paradise Mill Tours, as limited to max of 12 people per tour.

Access: Paradise Mill is a listed industrial building accessed only via three flights of stairs, totalling 49 steps with no wheelchair access. A unisex disabled access toilet, with baby changing facilities is available at the Silk Museum.

Summer of Art Workshops are running from 24th July – 4th September, mostly Wednesday-Saturdays but with a couple of Tuesdays!

Parking

There is free 1 hour on-street parking available directly outside the museum. If on-street parking is unavailable, less than 2 minutes walk away is council run The Old Library car park, with 28 spaces, with 1 disabled space. Located on the corner of Park Green SK11 7NA.
