Makers’ Place is an open plan creative space, where individual makers have their own ‘studio’ to make and sell their work. There’s a real mix of styles and products from jewellery to textile art, wedding tiaras and bouquets, watercolours, laser cut wood pictures and many other gift ideas. The Makers run a programme of regular craft workshops at The Old Sunday School.
Dotty B Textile Art – Michelle Barnard creates evocative textile art incorporating patchwork, quilting and appliqué. Her work often explores themes of home, haven, a sense of belonging and comfort in unexpected places.
Just Grace – Local silversmith and jewellery designer Grace Nadin-Slater creates her beautiful jewellery often inspired by the local area and its heritage.
Jo Gardiner – Jo works in mixed media and loves to use pastels, pens and watercolours, along with needle felting. Many of her paintings reflect the animals and birds from the local landscape which she sells as beautiful cards and prints.
Teal and Tangerine – Lisa Gledhill sews, crochets and knits homewares and accessories such as cushions, bowls, bunting, bags, brooches, hats and scarves. You name it she makes it. She really enjoys designing bespoke commissions too.
Glorious Tiaras – Heidi Reid designs and hand crafts stunning bridal hair accessories and vintage brooch bouquets.
Charlotte Baxter Pottery – Charlotte makes a range of pottery decorated with pools of fused recycled stained glass.
