Accessibility at Macclesfield Museums -

All of our venues are historic buildings but we do our best to make our collections and facilities as accessible as possible.

The Silk Museum has steps at the main entrance to the museum, but step free access is available on request. Call 01625 61045. There is step free access around the ground floor, and an accessible toilet. There is a platform lift to the first floor special exhibition gallery.

Paradise Mill is not wheelchair accessible and visits are also difficult for those with limited mobility. It is accessed via six short flights of stairs, but there is a lift available which must be booked in advance of your visit. In an emergency, evacuation is via the stairs or an external fire escape.

The Old Sunday School has step free access to the ground floor and an accessible toilet. There is a lift to the first floor meeting rooms and second floor Cinemac, but the museum displays in the basement can only be accessed via stairs.

West Park Museum has step free access and is all on one level. There are no toilet facilities on site.
