A combined visit to The Silk Museum and Paradise Mill offers a unique experience for your next group outing, and we can tailor the visit to both venues to suit your needs. We are situated at the heart of the North West, close to the borders with Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Greater Manchester. Our fascinating displays and silk heritage cover a diverse range of interests – social history, engineering and technology, fashion and design.

From small private parties to large society outings, we can accommodate groups of all sizes.

Entrance to Paradise Mill is by guided tour only and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The focus of the mill tour can be adapted to fit with your group’s interests and the timings can be adjusted to fit in with your itinerary.

Visit The Silk Museum and explore the extensive displays of our unique collections at your own pace. We recommend at least an hour for your museum visit, but you are welcome to stay longer.

The main entrance to The Silk Museum has steps, but can be accessed by a separate step-free entrance available on request.

The ground floor is step-free throughout and there is a lift to the first floor. Please note, some of the Tunnicliffe exhibition on the stairwell cannot be viewed by visitors with limited mobility.

As Paradise Mill is a listed industrial building accessed via three flights of stairs, totalling 49 steps.

Visitors with mobility problems may find it difficult to walk across the uneven floors. There is a lift up to the Mill, however, it can only accommodate 3 people. Currently, Paradise Mill cannot be accessed by wheelchair users.

There is a drop-off point directly outside the entrance on Park Lane.

Coach parking is available nearby for just £5 for up to 10 hours on Duke Street Car Park, SK11 6UR, 0.2 miles from the Silk Museum (5 minute walk).
