Freelance Communications Contract
Fixed term 5-month contract
To start as soon as possible, and which we may be able to extend, funding permitted
Contract fee: £5000 including expenses
The Silk Heritage Trust needs a dynamic and experienced Communications professional who can join the team as soon as possible to help us at a critical time. We need to rebuild audiences and profile for The Silk Museum and Paradise Mill through traditional communications routes and social media platforms; and strengthen the profile of The Friends’ membership scheme.
We are looking for an energetic freelancer, with bags of initiative, who can hit the ground running and understands what it takes to deliver effective communications for the independent, heritage sector.
You will be practical and hands-on, a team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You will bring the expertise to co-ordinate and deliver all marketing and communications activity in a timely, effective manner with a series of campaigns through to the end of March 2022. Whilst it is possible to work remotely, this role can only work successfully if you are able to familiarise yourself and connect regularly with our staff and our work.
You will bring expertise to help develop communications platforms so they are customer-focused and relevant to existing, new and diverse audiences; marketing and promotional materials both online and in print to promote public and groups’ opportunities; and our existing website to ensure it is an effective showcase / shop window for our offer, building audiences whilst we go through positive, dynamic change.
