Art Sessions in Schools

Artist in Schools

Artist in Schools

Would you like a local artist and art teacher to come to your school?

Local artist, Julie Longbottom, has developed a number of art workshops inspired by the work of Charles Tunnicliffe.

The workshops introduce students to some of Tunnicliffe’s artwork and his methods of work.

They are primarily hands on workshops with the children developing a specific skill and producing work of their own.

Julie has worked extensively with children and adults in both formal and informal education settings.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank-you to Julie for a fantastic day.

I have had great feedback from both teachers and children that took part today.

They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it looks like they’ve produced some fantastic work, so thanks again!”

The session involves simple exercises in colour blending and working with oil pastels

The children will sketch and then produce sgraffito works inspired by artwork by Charles Tunnicliffe
